Shopify stores built
around how you sell

We build custom themes, apps and checkout changes for Shopify stores, and connect them to the systems behind them, so your team can change the store without starting over.

Thanks, we’ll be in touch soon.

You’re in good company

A few of the companies we’ve worked with.

When every new need adds another app

Most Shopify stores start with a theme, which sets the store’s design and layout, and a few apps, the add-ons that bring in features beyond Shopify’s own. Then each new need adds another app or another edit to the theme, often made by different hands. Some apps add code to the theme that stays behind when they’re uninstalled. Over time nobody is sure what each app does or what still relies on it, and a change in one part of the store breaks another. Each of these is easier to sort out while the store is small.

What we build

Each part built the way Shopify supports, so the next change builds on it rather than working around it.

  • New stores

A store set up around how you sell, from its theme and catalog to payments, delivery and the apps it needs, tried with test orders before it opens.

  • Custom themes

A theme built from sections and blocks, the parts your team can add, move and change in Shopify’s theme editor.

  • Apps for your store

A custom app, made for your store alone, for what no ready-made app does, with access to only the store data it needs.

  • Checkout changes

Fields, messages and offers at set places in the checkout, and custom rules for discounts, delivery and payment options. Places in its own steps need Shopify Plus.

  • Custom storefronts

A storefront built apart from the theme, for a design or a way of shopping a theme can’t give, that still takes its products, cart and checkout from Shopify.

  • Connections to other systems

Orders, stock, prices and customers kept in step between your store and the systems behind it, from ERP and CRM to finance.

  • Moves to Shopify

Products, customers and past orders brought across from your current platform, with old addresses redirected so bookmarks and links still land.

  • Selling to businesses

Business customers with trade catalogs, prices and payment terms, ordering for themselves. Most of it works from the Basic plan up; a catalog for one company alone needs Shopify Plus.

  • A faster store

Pages measured first, then made lighter where it counts: images sized for the screen, and code left behind by removed apps taken out.

Changing the checkout, the supported way

Shopify runs every Shopify store’s checkout and keeps updating it. It can be changed in a few supported ways, among them checkout extensions, which add fields, messages or offers at set places in the checkout, and custom rules, which change how discounts, delivery and payment options work, or check an order before it’s placed.

Neither edits the checkout’s own code, and Shopify calls both upgrade-safe: they stay in place as it improves the checkout. Places on the Thank you page are open from the Basic plan up; places in the checkout’s own steps are for Shopify Plus only.

Shopify has retired the older ways, editing the checkout’s code and adding scripts to it, so a change once made that way is now made with extensions or custom rules, where they allow it.

Kept in step with Shopify’s updates

Shopify releases a new version of its API, the way apps and other systems talk to your store, every quarter, and supports each one for a set time. Every request names the version it was built for, and once that version is retired, Shopify answers with a newer one instead, which may not behave as the app expects.

So we keep your apps and connections on supported versions, read Shopify’s developer changelog for what’s coming, and make every change on a test store or a theme preview before it goes live.

Start with a review of your store

The review covers its theme and how much of it has been edited, each app (what it does, what it can reach and whether you still need it), its checkout changes, its speed, its connections to other systems and how changes go live. You get a written review under three headings, Keep, Fix and Rebuild, and a proposal for the first step.

Not on Shopify yet? The review starts with your current store and what has to come across.

  1. Is Shopify the right platform for us?

It suits stores that want Shopify to run the platform and the checkout, and to build what they need around them. Where another platform fits better, we’ll say so.

    E-commerce
  2. Do we need Shopify Plus?

Only if you need what it adds. On Shopify’s own pages, that includes changes inside the checkout’s own steps, custom rules in an app built for your store alone, and a trade catalog for one company. If you need none of those, another plan may be enough.

  3. Can you move our store to Shopify?

Yes. We bring the catalog across first, then customers, then past orders, so each order links to its products and its customer, and we set up redirects from your old addresses before the new store goes live.

  4. Can you take over our existing store?

Yes. The review comes first: the theme, each app and what it can reach, the checkout changes and the connections. Then we keep what works and fix the rest in the order the review sets.

  5. Can you build an app just for our store?

Yes. A custom app is made for one store and installed only there. It asks for access to just the store data it needs, and you approve that access when you install it.

  6. Can it connect to our other systems?

Yes. We agree which system is in charge of each detail, such as stock or customer records, and keep your store and those systems in step.

    Systems & API Integration
  7. Can you make our store faster?

Yes. We start with how the store performs for your shoppers, trace what slows it down, from images and apps to the theme’s own code, and fix the biggest causes first, so every fix is measured, not assumed.

    Performance & Optimization
  8. Who hosts it?

Shopify runs the store and its checkout. For anything we build that runs outside Shopify, such as a connection to your systems, hosting and the platform beneath it are a service of their own.

    Cloud, DevOps & Security
  9. Who looks after it once it’s live?

Our support team can: apps and connections kept on supported API versions, fixes and checks on a regular rhythm, with agreed response times.

    Support & Maintenance
  10. How do you keep it secure?

Shopify runs the platform and the checkout. Who can reach your store stays with you: staff accounts and their permissions, and the access each app was given when it was installed. We review both and keep each to what it needs, and what we build gets threat modeling, code review and checks in every build.

    Application Security
  11. What does it cost?

It depends on what the store needs: a theme, an app, checkout changes or a move. Your Shopify plan is billed by Shopify, apart from our work. You get a written proposal before any work starts: the scope, the price or rate, and how you pay.

    Pricing
  12. Can you add Shopify developers to our own team?

Yes. We introduce Shopify developers suited to your work, working in your time zone, and you decide who joins.
