How hiring works

From the first call to their first day, you decide each step.

  1. You tell us.

    Tell us about the work

A short call about your sites, the version and .NET you’re on, your packages and custom tools, and who you need. The first call is free.

  2. We introduce.

    Meet developers matched to it

Within 48 hours, we introduce developers whose experience fits, with the work each has done.

  3. You choose.

    Choose who joins

You talk to each one and decide who starts.

  4. They start.

Start on a date you agree

They join your team in your tools, and work in your time zone.

What they work on

Upgrades, extensions, blocks and integrations.

Upgrades to Umbraco 17

From Umbraco 13, or from an older version through each long-term version in turn, following the upgrade notes Umbraco publishes, tried on a copy first.

Older sites moved

Umbraco 7 and 8 sites brought to Umbraco 17 along the route Umbraco’s docs describe, starting with their content in a new site.

Backoffice extensions

Custom property editors, dashboards and sections rebuilt for the backoffice introduced in Umbraco 14.

Packages and add-ons

Each package and Umbraco add-on moved to its version for Umbraco 17, or replaced where none exists.

Blocks and Elements

Block List, Block Grid and Elements set up so your editors arrange pages themselves.

Sites and languages

More than one site, and more than one language, run from the one installation.

Integrations

Connections through the Content Delivery API, the Management API and webhooks, each given only the access its job needs.

Working in your team

They work the way your team already does.

  • Your tools. Your own chat, tickets and code repository, so you see the work as it happens.
  • Your hours. They work in your time zone, on hours you agree before anyone starts.
  • Your access. You decide what they can reach, and remove it when they leave.

Questions worth asking

How soon can a developer start?

We introduce developers matched to your work within 48 hours. Once you’ve chosen, they start on a date you agree.

Can we interview them first?

Yes. You talk to each developer and choose who joins.

Will they work in our time zone?

Yes. They work in your time zone, on hours you agree before anyone starts.

What does it cost?

It depends on the experience you need and how long you need them. Your proposal sets out the monthly fee and how you pay before anyone starts.

Pricing

Can they rebuild our custom property editors for the new backoffice?

Yes. They rebuild each one as an extension for the backoffice introduced in Umbraco 14, and check it on a copy against the content your editors already entered.

Can they bring our Umbraco 8 site to Umbraco 17?

Yes. They move the content into a new site and write the templates and code again for .NET 10, along the route Umbraco’s docs describe, each step tried on a copy first.

Can they tell us which of our packages will run on Umbraco 17?

Yes. They look up each package’s compatibility for Umbraco 17 and tell you, package by package, whether to update it, replace it or rebuild it.

Can you take on the whole project instead?

Yes. That starts with a written review of your sites, the packages and custom tools they rely on and the code around them, and a proposal for a first step, such as one custom property editor rebuilt.
