You talk to each one and decide who starts.

  4. They start.

Start on a date you agree

They join your team in your tools, and work in your time zone.

What they work on

Semantic models, reports, refreshes and access, and the workspaces behind them.

Semantic models

Models shaped as a star, one for each subject, shared by every report that needs it.

Measures

Each calculation kept in the model under a plain name, and tested against totals the business already uses.

Reports

Pages laid out for the questions each team asks, with the visuals that answer them.

Refresh

Refreshes that reload only the newest rows, on schedules that suit each source, and finish.

Row-level access

Rules that filter each person’s rows, with editing kept to the few who need it.

Workspaces and releases

Changes made in a development workspace and tried in a test one, with every report and model in version control.

Capacity moves and your own servers

Workspaces moved off Premium per capacity to a Microsoft Fabric capacity, or reports kept on Power BI Report Server.

Ways to hire

One developer

A small team

Developers who look after your reports together, from the models and the measures to the refreshes, the access and the capacity.

Working in your team

They work the way your team already does.

  • Your tools. Your own chat, tickets and code repository, so you see the work as it happens.
  • Your hours. They work in your time zone, on hours you agree before anyone starts.
  • Your access. You decide what they can reach, and remove it when they leave.

Questions worth asking

How soon can a developer start?

We introduce developers matched to your work within 48 hours. Once you’ve chosen, they start on a date you agree.

Can we interview them first?

Yes. You talk to each developer and choose who joins.

Will they work in our time zone?

Yes. They work in your time zone, on hours you agree before anyone starts.

What does it cost?

It depends on the experience you need and how long you need them. Your proposal sets out the monthly fee and how you pay before anyone starts.

Pricing

Can they speed up a slow report?

Yes. They measure which visuals take longest and why, then fix the slowest first, in the model, the measure or the visual.

Can they put our reports under version control?

Yes. They save reports and models as projects, plain text files your repository can hold, so every change is reviewed and can be undone.

Can they untangle reports that grew one at a time?

Yes. They read each model, its measures, its refresh and who it’s shared with, write down what they find, then change one thing at a time.

Can you take on the whole project instead?

Yes. That starts with a written review of your workspaces, the reports people open most and the models behind them, and a proposal for a first step, such as two reports brought onto one shared model.
