You’re in good company

A few of the companies we’ve worked with.

How hiring works

From the first call to their first day, you decide each step.

  1. You tell us.

    Tell us about the work

A short call about your app, how its data and rules are set up, and who you need. The first call is free.

  2. We introduce.

    Meet developers matched to it

Within 48 hours, we introduce developers whose experience fits, with the work each has done.

  3. You choose.

    Choose who joins

You talk to each one and decide who starts.

  4. They start.

Start on a date you agree

They join your team in your tools, and work in your time zone.

What they work on

Rules, data, sign-in and the code around them.

New features

Features added to your app on Firebase, with tests from the start.

Rules, tested

Firebase Security Rules kept in step with your data, each change tested on the emulator before it ships.

Sign-in and accounts

Firebase Authentication set up for the sign-in your users expect, each account reaching only its own data.

Data and queries

Each screen’s queries matched to what it shows, with the indexes they need.

Server functions

Cloud Functions for Firebase for the work an app shouldn’t do itself, its secrets kept on the server.

Upgrades and retired features

SDK major versions taken in turn, and retired features moved before their dates.

Checks in CI

Every change run against the Firebase Local Emulator Suite in CI before it deploys.

Ways to hire

One developer

Full time, by the month, working as part of your team.

A small team

Developers who look after your app together, from its rules and its data to its functions and the checks in CI.

Working in your team

They work the way your team already does.

  • Your tools. Your own chat, tickets and code repository, so you see the work as it happens.
  • Your hours. They work in your time zone, on hours you agree before anyone starts.
  • Your access. You decide what they can reach, and remove it when they leave.

Questions worth asking

How soon can a developer start?

We introduce developers matched to your work within 48 hours. Once you’ve chosen, they start on a date you agree.

Can we interview them first?

Yes. You talk to each developer and choose who joins.

Will they work in our time zone?

Yes. They work in your time zone, on hours you agree before anyone starts.

What does it cost?

It depends on the experience you need and how long you need them. Your proposal sets out the monthly fee and how you pay before anyone starts.

Pricing

Can they tighten our rules without breaking the app?

Yes. They write tests for today’s rules on the emulator first, then tighten one collection at a time, with the app’s own requests in the tests.

Can they replace the extensions we use?

Yes, before March 31, 2027, when Firebase Extensions is set to be retired: with function kits in Cloud Functions for Firebase or code of your own, on a branch, each tested on the emulators.

Can they look at what our app reads?

Yes. They match each screen’s queries to what it shows, add the indexes those queries need and set budget alerts, then compare usage before and after.

Can you take on the whole project instead?

Yes. That starts with a written review of your project on Firebase, its rules and their tests, its data and what each screen reads, and the way it’s deployed, and a proposal for a first step, such as one collection’s rules tightened on a branch.
